Board of Directors

Hollis Montessori School is 501(c)(3) non-profit institution governed by a Board of Directors which provides oversight for the school.

The volunteer Board is responsible for ensuring that the mission of Hollis Montessori is carried out, and it has fiduciary responsibility for the school. Board members actively lead long-term and strategic planning efforts, and engage in fund raising and community-building initiatives.

The Board of Directors employs the Head of School, who is responsible for executing the policies established by the Board, hiring faculty and staff, and managing the daily operations of the school.

Board members are nominated and elected for three-year terms.

 

Frank Grossman - President
Frank was Co-Founder (with Jim Moskun), President and Chief Technology Officer of Mindreef, Inc from its founding in 2001 until it was purchased by Progress Software (NASDAQ:PRGS) in 2008. Frank was also a Co-Founder (with Jim Moskun) of NuMega Technologies, Inc. where he was Chief Technical Officer from its founding in 1987 until until its sale to Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) in 1998. Frank served on the board of Beaver Brook Association from 2000 - 2009 and as President of the board from 2002 - 2009. Beaver Brook is an association with 2000 acres of land with a mission to promote the understanding of interrelationships in the natural world and to encourage conservation of natural resources through education and land stewardship. Frank holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Bowling Green University.

 

Erin Moskun - Vice President
Erin became involved in Montessori through her children, who have attended Montessori schools starting at age 3. When her eldest child reached Montessori’s upper elementary level, she teamed with fellow board member Camille Campbell and former board member Rhonda Burns to create the Hollis Montessori School. Over the last 5 years she has done volunteer work in three different Montessori Schools. Erin has three children in Hollis Montessori and two older step children. Erin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science from the University of New Hampshire and has worked as a nutritional counselor. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. In her free time Erin is an avid runner (completed 5 marathons), a lifelong swimmer and is passionate about Power Yoga.

 

Camille Campbell - Treasurer
Camille became involved in Hollis Montessori School through her children's Montessori education. When her eldest child reached Montessori’s upper elementary level, she teamed with fellow board member Erin Moskun and former board member Rhonda Burns to create the Hollis Montessori School. In addition to her role as Board Treasurer, Camille serves as Assistant Head of School and is the school's webmaster. Camille holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Connecticut and worked as a software engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and France. She has a Certificate in Visual Arts from Rivier College and worked as a Graphic Designer at DEC and Harpell/Martins Advertising Agency. She is married and her two children attend Hollis Montessori. In her free time Camille enjoys yoga, running, gardening, reading, graphic arts, and spending time with her family.

 

John Longan - Secretary
John discovered the Montessori method of education while searching for alternatives after his daughter's zeal for learning began to wane when she was in the second grade. Being an engineer, the self directed, hands-on approach to understanding resonated with him. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He has been involved in product design and engineering for 20 years and currently leads a materials development group for Joule Unlimited, a renewable fuels company in Cambridge, MA. John prefers being outdoors and enjoys discovery and exploring the world both near and far with his family. He is married and his two children attend Hollis Montessori School.

 

Helen Ballou
Helen has worked in Montessori education for several years, and she is currently a lower elementary Montessori teacher. She completed her training at Seacoast Center for Education in 2004. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Rivier College, in Nashua, NH. She is also a library trustee for the Brookline Public Library and the board’s secretary. Helen lives in New Hampshire with her husband and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, whitewater canoeing, reading, yoga, crocheting, ice boating, and backcountry skiing.

 

James Moskun
Jim was Co-Founder (with Frank Grossman) and Chief Strategy Officer of Mindreef Inc. from its founding in 2001 until it was purchased by Progress Software (NASDAQ:PRGS) in 2008. Jim also co-founded (with Frank Grossman) NuMega Technologies where he was Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of the Board from 1987 until its sale to Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) in 1998. Jim holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Jim has three children at Hollis Montessori.
